New Orleans School for the Esoteric Arts, known as NOSEA, is opening its doors to students this very evening. An impressive roster of more than 30 classes taught by accredited professors awaits students looking to further their knowledge in the occult.

I spoke with founder Christy Patton this Thursday over dinner at the Mellow Mushroom on Oak Street. She explained, “People want this. People need this!” She has nurtured plans for this school since she found the lack of knowledge concerning the occult frustrating in her teens. She would visit her local library in Baton Rouge, only to find that the occult section featured a largely limited selection.
